Janene and Jerry Hampton will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday.
They were married on May 21, 1960, in First Baptist Church of Meeker, Oklahoma. They had known each other since childhood and dated in high school and college.
Mr. Hampton worked in the oil and gas industry as a safety trainer for Halliburton Services. Mrs. Hampton (nee Adams) was an elementary classroom teacher.
They have lived in seven states, including Casper, Wyoming, the longest (33 years) and now reside in Chattanooga, where they are members of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.
They have four children (two deceased), six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
