Memorial Day Musings
Many sources are predicting the return of the great American road trip when looking into their crystal balls regarding tourism amid ongoing COVID-19 concerns. But Memorial Day, long heralded as the start of summer – and vacation – will most likely not be the kickoff of that trend.
According to AAA, last year’s Memorial Day saw a record number of Americans strike out on road trips to destinations including Orlando, Anaheim and Tampa, but for the first time in 20 years, AAA is not even bothering to release its annual travel trend report just ahead of this year’s holiday. So instead, we bring the beach to you.
