There are two unique upcoming options to get out and experience some culture amid the crisp fall weather, no matter your comfort level.
On Oct. 22, 24, 29, 30 and 31, Chattanooga State’s Fine Arts Department will present “The Giver” beginning at 7:30 p.m. Based on the classic children’s book by Lois Lowry, the play by Eric Coble will be presented in the parking lot of the Humanities building and the audio will utilize a closed FM transmitter so guests can enjoy the performance from the comfort of their vehicle. Perhaps best of all is the fact that it’s free, though attendees are asked to register at chattanoogastate.edu/theatre.
On Oct. 24, The Dismembered Tennesseans will present a live, in-person concert on the Chattanooga Theatre Centre’s riverfront lawn at 7 p.m. Concessions, beer, wine and soft drinks will be available starting at 6 p.m. Guests will be seated in designated areas separated by 6-foot-wide aisles, and masks are required. Blankets and chairs are welcome. Admission is $15 for adults and $7.50 for children age 12 and under. To purchase, visit TheatreCentre.com or call 423-267-8534.
