Journey Around the Sun
I’ve never understood people who didn’t like to celebrate their birthday. A Leo, I enjoy being doted on, but more than that, I see it as a chance to celebrate life – what has been and, more importantly, what will be.
In July I’ll turn 40, a milestone which calls for a celebration just as momentous. It’s something I’ve probably thought about off and on since I turned 37. Would I welcome my next age bracket with a grown-up girls trip to California wine country? An exotic vacation with my beau? A birthday blowout with all the friends I’ve gained over the years?
Then COVID-19 overtook the world, adding the question of open borders, vaccination passports and capacity warnings to my birthday plan musings.
Whether you’ve been anxiously dreaming about a big birthday fete or a post-COVID celebration, our stories below could help you focus. In the meantime, I’ll be planning my Puerto Rican girls’ getaway, frenetic in-town birthday bash and intimate cabin escape.
