Your Wednesday at a glance:
- Weather: Mostly sunny with a high of 64.
- What to eat: Here’s a one-bowl cookie recipe for those who hate washing dishes as much as I do.
- What to be proud of: Probably to no Chattanoogan’s surprise, the city is being praised for its hosting skills at the recent state football championships. The games saw the highest turnout of the last five years.
- What to know: Applications closed Monday for the search for Chattanooga’s new police chief. The city’s job listing called for chief candidates to have an open mind, a big heart and leadership skills.
Good morning, Chattanooga!
Christmas is only 10 days away, but the holiday isn’t the only festive celebration that Chattanooga area residents take part in.
With customs like Chanukah on Ice, the gift-giving celebrations of the Baha’i faith and even a lasagna baking in the oven, our traditions are as diverse as our communities.
My coworker Jo Kibble puts it well: “Ultimately what brings us together for the holidays- community, faith, family – is far more important than our differing beliefs.”
