CALM BEFORE THE STORM
Next year promises to be an election year that is interesting on the national and local levels. Here in Hamilton County, all county commission, school board and administrative offices will be up for a vote, and complicating the matter are two new commission and school board districts in the county and, for the first time, partisan school board elections. Candidates for those positions could begin picking up petitions last week, and over the first two days 45 did. Since the deadline for picking up for petitions isn’t until Feb. 17, the ballot could be quite full. You can read all about it below.
But if you’re not quite ready to get back to reality, ponder the holiday songs that create memories for you. I’ve given you 11 of mine, also below.
Of course the world doesn’t stop for Christmas. So, last week, we also offered an op-ed on proposed raises for the school board by Nick Decosimo, a little different take from the usual talking heads on West Virginia Sen. Joe Machin’s decision not to bite on a big government bill and Ron Hart’s weekly musings. They’re all below.
And happy new year!
