The body of a 27-year-old man who had been reported missing last month was found Thursday afternoon near the Hamilton Place area, according to a Chattanooga Police Department news release.
Michael Wigfall was reported missing on Jan. 24. Wigfall had last been seen driving a dark blue 2006 Chevy Trailblazer on the evening of Jan. 21 at the Mapco in the 2700 block of Rossville Boulevard.
His body was found in a parked vehicle on a lot in the 7000 block of McCutcheon Road at 12:22 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle had been sitting in the parking lot, unmoved, since Jan. 22, according to the news release.
Wigfall’s death doesn’t appear to have been the result of a violent or intentional act by another person, according to the release.
Wigfall’s body was taken to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
