More vaccines incoming
President Joe Biden announced that the U.S. has purchased 200 million doses of coronavirus vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer – enough to vaccinate everyone currently eligible by the end of July. While this is great news in our fight to control the pandemic, securing more vaccines is only half the battle. We’ve still got to get those shots into arms. This weekend, we’ll have a story that details how that effort is going across the Chattanooga region.
On this day in 2020, the world reported more than 60,000 COVID-19 infections and over 1,350 known deaths. The vast majority of cases remained concentrated in China, but our understanding that the coronavirus transmits rapidly in close quarters was growing. The United States had 14 confirmed cases at the time.
Stay safe,
