Man injured, suspect arrested in Old Dayton Pike shooting

One man has been injured and another arrested in a Tuesday night shooting in the 5900 block of Old Dayton Pike, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene at around 9:44 p.m. and found suspect Donald Hartley, 50, and a 46-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound outside of a residence, the release states.

Hartley and the victim were verbally arguing before the shooting, an investigation determined.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Hartley was arrested and taken to Silverdale Detention Center on charges of aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm, the release states.
