The flamethrower has left the building.

Hunter Greene, who set a professional baseball velocity record for a starting pitcher with 37 pitches in excess of 100 mph during Chattanooga’s season opener at AT&T Field on May 5, has been promoted by the Cincinnati Reds from the Class AA Lookouts to Triple-A Louisville.

“I wanted to thank everyone in Chattanooga for a great experience,” Greene posted on Twitter, “and for taking care of me – great food, great people and a great city.”

Greene, the second overall pick in the 2017 draft, made seven starts with the Lookouts, compiling a 5-0 record and a 1.98 earned run average. In 41 innings pitched, the 21-year-old racked up 60 strikeouts and walked 14.

Another touted pitcher who got off to a scorching start with this season’s Lookouts, lefty Nick Lodolo, has been battling blister issues on his left hand since late last month. In 30 innings so far, the 23-year-old Lodolo has recorded 45 strikeouts and yielded just six walks, and his ERA is a sparkling 0.90.
