ATLANTA – The Atlanta Braves’ home game against the St. Louis Cardinals that was set for Saturday was postponed because of rain.

The game will be made up as part of a day-night doubleheader Sunday at 2:10 p.m. and 7:08 p.m. Under MLB’s COVID-19 pandemic rules, both games at Truist Park will be scheduled for seven innings.

St. Louis right-hander Adam Wainwright (4-5, 3.95 ERA) and Atlanta right-hander Bryse Wilson (2-2, 4.38) are the scheduled starting pitchers in Sunday’s first game. The second game matches two lefties on the mound: Kwang Hyun Kim (1-4, 3.72) for the Cardinals and Drew Smyly (3-3, 5.63) for the Braves.

The Braves began the four-game series by outscoring the Cardinals a combined 13-1 in back-to-back wins Thursday and Friday, snapping a two-game skid. Atlanta (32-35), which is the three-time reigning champion in the National League East Division but has yet to get above .500 this season, had lost six of seven entering the series.

The Cardinals (35-35) have lost five straight road games and eight of their past nine away from home.
