Good morning, Chattanooga!
Do you remember your first bike?
When I was a kid, it took me a while to learn how to ride. I don’t remember what the hold-up was, but thankfully now, it’s, well it’s like riding a bike (pun obviously intended.)
Local nonprofit White Oak Bicycle Co-op wants to make sure that more kids have access to the experience, regardless of income and background.
“We want to make sure [the bikes] look as if they just came off the store shelf, that the bikes are safe, and that they’re also nice to have,” says Blake Pierce, executive director of the organization. “We want to reduce barriers to access in a meaningful way.”
Now for some recent stories:
SHOWING IMPROVEMENT: Two of Hamilton County’s lowest-performing schools showed strong math gains amid the pandemic.

VETERAN SALUTE: This local Air Force veteran is spending his retirement honoring fellow vets at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
