On the table
Every Thanksgiving, my mother sets the table using her good silver and cut glass serving platters – heirloom pieces, she always reminds me. And I’ll admit, until recently, I never gave them much thought.
According to Susan Pierce’s story on tablescaping, younger generations are forgoing formal dinnerware, with only one-quarter of couples now registering for fine china on wedding sites. However, in her piece, we also learn that almost anything goes when it comes to a festive setting.
In our first story below, you’ll find Pierce’s guide to holiday table-setting, offering both formal and informal options.
Happy Thanksgiving, Chatter readers!
