Good morning, and welcome to School Report.
The superintendent search in Hamilton County Schools continued last night with a virtual community town hall about the search process.
Board of Education chair Tucker McClendon and vice chair Tiffanie Robinson fielded questions from parents and community members about the process. Both said that the next superintendent needs to continue the district’s Future Ready 2023 strategic plan and set new goals for the district to achieve beyond 2023.
The top three candidates will interview with board beginning next week, along with touring four or five schools and having meet-and-greets with the community.
Superintendent candidate Christopher Bernier will be in town Nov. 29-30, followed by candidate Jermaine Dawson on Dec. 1-2. Local candidate Justin Robertson will round out the interview process on Dec. 6-7.
