The Hamilton County Board of Education kicks off interviews with the top three superintendent candidates Tuesday night.
First up is Christopher Bernier of Clark County Schools, Nevada, Tuesday, followed by Jermaine Dawson of Birmingham City Schools, Alabama, on Thursday. Internal candidate Justin Robertson, interim deputy superintendent of Hamilton County Schools, will interview on Dec. 7.
Each interview will take place at 5:30 p.m. and will be streamed on the Hamilton County Schools YouTube channel. The board plans to select a superintendent at next week’s board meeting on Dec. 9.
Just as schools – and COVID-19 requirements – have been in near-constant transition during the pandemic, I am in a season of transition myself. As of yesterday, I am no longer with the Times Free Press and will soon be taking on a new role in a different town.
