On the final night of high school football’s regular season in Tennessee, Chattanooga Christian School made a huge statement at home with a 33-21 win over Knoxville Webb, with four scores from as many players in the Division II-AA upset.

Offensively, the Chargers (4-4, 4-2 Division II-AA East) were led by junior running back Javoris Havis, who rushed 26 times for 216 yards and a touchdown in the victory. Sophomore tailback Da’rell Brown added 86 rushing yards and a 19-yard touchdown in a dominant performance on the ground by CCS.

“Coming into this game, we knew we had to make big plays and mainly keep moving the ball,” Havis said. “I give all the credit to my linemen, because they made the holes for me. Credit to our offense in general.”

The first half was a low-scoring slugfest, with CCS opening the scoring from 12 yards out on a broken play that quarterback Lane Travis turned into an unlikely touchdown run. The Chargers’ 2-point attempt failed, though, and Webb (6-2, 5-1) later took advantage of a CCS fumble for its lone score of the first half, with Charlie Robinson connecting with Markeis Barrett for a 22-yard touchdown pass and a 7-6 lead late in the first quarter.

Webb put together a 96-yard drive to the CCS 2 and looked poised to extend its lead, but Robinson’s pass to the end zone was intercepted by Dre Martin with less than a minute left in the half.
