One of the nation's biggest automotive oil change retailers will enter the Chattanooga market next week with the first of several planned shops in the area.
Jiffy Lube, a Houston-based automotive maintenance provider that has grown over the past four decades to include more than 2,200 company and franchised locations nationwide, is opening a new outlet Tuesday at 688 Signal Mountain Road in Chattanooga.
Stonebriar Auto Services, LLC, a franchisee for Jiffy Lube which already operates 38 locations in other states, is expanding its franchise into Tennessee with its newest Jiffy Lube outlet in Chattanooga. The company plans to expand into Georgia early next year with a location in Ringgold, Georgia and the firm is looking at other local sites for possible Jiffy Lube locations in the future.
"We are excited to open our store in Chattanooga and can't wait to serve the community," said Steve Isom, executive vice president of Stonebriar. "As an industry leader, Jiffy Lube is known for convenient, quality vehicle maintenance and much more than just oil changes. We are eager for Chattanooga residents to experience the Jiffy Lube difference for their car care needs."
Company spokeswoman Rachael Muhlenbeck said the new Jiffy Lube is a Multi-care shop, offering oil changes and service work on brakes, alignments, tires, wiper blades and other automotive services.
"We pride ourselves on fast and friendly service," she said, noting that each store offers customers free WI-FI, coffee and water for every guest.
The new Jiffy Lube structure costs more than $1 million to build and equip and the new store will have eight to 10 full- and part-time employees, Muhlenbeck said.
The store will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Sundays. No appointments are necessary.
Jiffy Lube pioneered the fast oil change industry in 1979 by establishing the first drive-through service bay, providing customers with fast, professional service for their vehicles.
Stonebriar Auto Services, LLC, the local franchisee for Jiffy Lube, was founded in 2019 and owns and operatesJiffy Lube locations around the country.
