Red Wolves give up late goal in home loss to FC Tucson

The Chattanooga Red Wolves lost 3-2 to FC Tucson on Saturday night at CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge, falling to 2-2-1 overall and 2-1-1 in USL League One play this season after entering the weekend in first place.

Chattanooga's Jimmie Villalobos and Rafael Mentzingen scored with Moe Espinoza providing the assists for the Red Wolves, who led 1-0 in the 26th minute and 2-1 in the 62nd. FC Tucson, which drew even for the second time in the 71st minute and converted a penalty kick after the 90th minute to go ahead for the first time, earned its first league win this season after losing its opener and drawing in its second game.

The Red Wolves play again Friday, visiting the Greenville Triumph at 7 p.m. Their next home match is at 7:30 p.m. on May 7 against Northern Colorado.

That will kick off a run of three straight home matches for Chattanooga, which will take on Central Valley on May 14 and then Greenville on May 28.
