Road draws for Chattanooga FC, Red Wolves

Former Dalton High School standout Damian Rodriguez scored for the Chattanooga Football Club, but the visitors had to settle for a 1-all draw Saturday night against the Maryland Bobcats FC.

Chattanooga FC is now 10-4-5 overall this year and 9-3-5 in National Independent Soccer Association matches. CFC's 32 points in the standings trail only NISA leader Cal United Strikers FC (11-2-1, 35 points).

Maryland is 6-4-6 in the league.

CFC is home for its next match, going outside of the NISA ranks to face Metro Louisville FC at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Finley Stadium.


Red Wolves draw at Charlotte

The Chattanooga Red Wolves stretched their undefeated streak to nine matches with a 2-all draw against the Charlotte Independence in North Carolina.

Moe Espinoza and Alex Tejara had goals for the Red Wolves, who are now 9-8-6 against USL League One competition with 33 points in the standings. That's good for fourth, behind Richmond (11-7-5, 38 points), Greenville (11-7-5, 38) and Omaha (8-3-10, 34).

Madison (7-5-10, 31) is fifth, with Charlotte (8-8-6, 30) in sixth.

The Red Wolves return to competition next Saturday, visiting Union Omaha at 8 p.m..
