Miller's Ale House, the sports-themed casual dining restaurant and bar, opened its second Chattanooga-area restaurant in Hixson on Monday near Northgate Mall.

The 7,862-square-foot restaurant features indoor and outdoor seating, more than 60 TVs, a Florida Room with garage-style exterior walls that can be raised to bring the outside in during good weather.

Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Orlando, Florida, Miller's Ale House opened its first Chattanooga location near Hamilton Place in 2018. It has more than 90 sports-themed casual dining restaurants in 10 states. The Hixson location will be the fourth in Tennessee with other locations in Franklin and Murfreesboro.

It has stores in Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Tennessee, Georgia, Delaware and Virginia, with a new location planned in New Jersey by the end of the year.

"The new restaurant in Hixson will have great visibility alongside the ongoing development of the Northgate Mall," said Miller's Ale House Chief Development Officer Ray Holden, in a news release.

"Our first location on Gunbarrel Road has been a great success, and we look forward to bringing a second location to the area on the other side of the river."

The menu offers more than 60 choices including a variety of entrees, burgers, soups, flatbreads, pastas, steaks, seafood, salads and sandwiches, plus weekday lunch and dinner specials. It is known for its large portions, shareable appetizers, including its famous chicken Zingers and The Mountain Melt.

The Zingers feature buttermilk-drenched, hand-breaded, never-frozen boneless chicken tenders, tossed in a choice of 17 sauces for a wing-style taste, according to the release.

The restaurant is open daily for lunch, dinner and late night, and also offers more than 35 beers on tap and a large selection of signature cocktails and pitchers.
