Hiring begins for new veterans' home in Cleveland, Tennessee

Cleveland's new Tennessee State Veterans' Home is getting close enough to completion to begin hiring its first employees, according to a news release from the Tennessee State Veterans' Homes Board.

Board officials said the positions being filled will play a vital role in preparing the facility for opening, and while an official opening date has not been announced, the home is anticipated to be operational this summer.

"We are thrilled that we are able to begin hiring talented team members to care for our future residents," Tennessee State Veterans' Homes Executive Director Ed Harries said in the release. "Our veterans have served our country with honor and distinction, and we have a commitment to provide them with the highest quality of care. I am confident our new team members will share the same sentiment and take pride in serving our residents."

Full-time employees of the Tennessee State Veterans' Homes receive a competitive state benefits package with a 100% employer-paid pension, according to the release, plus other benefits.

Hiring for positions in Cleveland is already underway, officials said.

Interested candidates can visit tsvh.org/careers to learn more and apply. Additional clinical, dietary, environmental services and office positions will become available as the new home gets closer to opening, officials said.

Tennessee State Veterans' Homes is a skilled nursing organization dedicated to serving Tennessee's veterans and their families. The facilities are in Murfreesboro, Humboldt, Knoxville and Clarksville, with Cleveland and Arlington coming soon. Executive offices are in Murfreesboro, and all facilities are governed by the Tennessee State Veterans' Homes Board.
