Cleveland shooting suspect arrested after standoff with Chattanooga police

A man accused of shooting his girlfriend in Cleveland, Tennessee, was arrested Wednesday after he barricaded himself in a Chattanooga house, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Police said the incident started after officers responded around 4:50 p.m. to a house on the 3900 block of Calhoun Avenue to find a person with outstanding warrants. Officers were looking for Mark Davis, 48, who was wanted in Cleveland as a suspect in the shooting of his girlfriend, according to the news release.

Davis barricaded himself in the house but eventually surrendered to police without incident, according to the release. Davis was taken to Silverdale Detention Center.

Davis was charged with reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm with a prior violent felony and failure to appear, among other outstanding warrants.
