Palmetto Moon, a Southern lifestyle specialty retailer, will open a new store at Hamilton Place mall on Saturday as the first of at least three new retailers planning outlets in Chattanooga’s biggest shopping mall.
The new store will be the 31st for the Charleston, South Carolina-based Palmetto Moon, which touts “the flairs and comforts of Southern Living” with its stylish apparel, footwear, drink ware, gifts and collegiate wear. The retail chain carries such brands as Southern Marsh, Simply Southern, Columbia, YETI, Chubbies, Hey Dude, Vineyard Vines and Costa.
Palmetto Moon is filling the 7,236-square-foot storefront on the lower mall level vacated by Abercrombie & Fitch, which closed more than 130 of its stores across the country over the past year.
To celebrate the grand opening this weekend, Palmetto Moon will be offering door prizes, including Palmetto Moon bags, and the first 200 customers Saturday morning will receive a free custom YETI 12-ounce coaster with a purchase of $40 or more. On Saturday afternoon from 4 to 6, the store is offering live music, a photo booth, cookies from B’s Sweets and cornhole and games out in the mall area, in addition to hourly prizes. Other prizes and membership perks will also be offered to shoppers Sunday.
“We are thrilled to open our doors to a totally new market and welcome the Chattanooga community into the authentic Palmetto Moon shopping experience during our grand opening celebration,” Palmetto Moon Chief Brand Officer Amber Dube said in an announcement of the store opening.
