The Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office has announced the indictment of a suspect in connection with a 2016 double homicide in Chattanooga.

District Attorney General Neal Pinkston said that after evidence was presented to the grand jury from cold case unit investigators, an indictment for the murders of George Dillard, 24, and Lakita Hicks, 25, both of Chattanooga, was issued for James Joshua Martin.

Pinkston said there were developments in the case in the past 30 days but he did not say what they were.

Pinkston said that Martin, 29, of Chattanooga, is in a federal holding facility in Kentucky on federal drug and weapon charges.
