ATLANTA - When the Atlanta Braves struck for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Friday night, the San Diego Padres took the lead right back in the top of the seventh and piled on in the ninth for a decisive win in the series opener.
Less than 24 hours later, the Braves and Padres were back at it - and this time Atlanta's work at the plate wasn't wasted.
Marcell Ozuna homered and Austin Riley hit a tiebreaking double during a four-run rally in the eighth inning Saturday that lifted the reigning World Series champions to a 6-5 victory over the Padres.
The Braves tagged reliever Steven Wilson (3-1) for Ozzie Albies' RBI single, Ozuna's two-run homer and Riley's go-ahead hit.
"It's what you play for here every day," Albies said.
