Greeson: Jay’s Plays: Prop me up for Monday Night Football action, friends

Good afternoon, sports fans,

Boo! Happy Halloween, and here's hoping your neighbors are chocolate bars/Reese's treat givers tonight.

Before we get to the moneymakers, what would the Vegas line be on the worst Trick or Treat offering?

Fruit is a poor choice. Growing up, we had a dentist who lived down the street on Ridge Road in Smyrna, Ga., and yes, he handed out toothbrushes and floss. Hey, Dr. NoFun, just turn out the lights. No one went to his house after that year.

Let's find some winners on the 71st birthday of college football's biggest winner, Mr. Nick Saban.

1 FOR THE MONEY

It's a sneaky crowded calendar -- it's easy to forget the NBA's rolling right now, too -- that is one of those rare days that includes all four of the major North American sports leagues. But we're staying true to our football-shaped heart. While the line and the total have moved after the news of Bengals star receiver Jamarr Chase will not be available tonight, my favorite bet tonight is a prop bet on a Browns player. Cleveland is one of the most consistent rushing teams in the league, averaging 5.2 yards per attempt despite a long of just 41 this year. That rushing effort starts with Nick Chubb, but also includes quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

My pick: Cleveland QB Jacoby Brisset over 11.5 rushing yards (minus-110 on BetMGM) against Cincinnati.

2 FOR THE SHOW

I'd love to see a Vegas spread on which event will get more viewers, Monday Night Football or a critical Game 3 of the World Series. We mentioned the lack of Chase tonight for Cincinnati, which means the pass-heavy Bengals will be looking to spread Chase's targets around.

My pick: Tee Higgins over 5 receptions (minus-120 on FanDuel) against Cincinnati.

3 TO GET READY

This is a space we either look ahead to some possible wagers or note some of the better deals that the betting sites are offering. Let's look at the latter, and check the "First TD scored" offer from BetMGM. Bet on any player in the Monday Night game to score the first touchdown, and even if your bet misses, BetMGM will refund your bet up to $25 in site credit. Yes, please, and who would not want a free swing, right? There are a slew of likable choices, including Nick Chubb at plus-600, especially when it's like the beers at the Delta house and don't cost nothin', right?

My pick: Nick Chubb (plus-600) to score the first touchdown against Cincinnati for a quarter-unit (that BetMGM will refund in site credit if we miss).

4 SCORE

Our weekend football sweep pulled us back into the realm of breathing at 2-3, down 1.3 units.

But with a two live props and a freebie tonight, let's be like Pete Rose and win some money in Ohio.
