Boo Carter's football career with Chattanooga Christian has come to an end.

CCS principal Chad Dirkse confirmed Carter is no longer enrolled at the school but would not elaborate further.

One of the state's highest-rated junior prospects, Carter is expected to enroll at Brainerd High School. That move has not yet been finalized although his mother posted a photo of herself and her son inside the Brainerd High office on social media Monday.

Hours after Carter became the first Mr. Football semifinalist in program history last Friday, he was not with the Chargers for their first-round playoff win. After the game CCS head coach Phil Massey told the Times Free Press Carter was absent for undisclosed reasons.

On Saturday the four-star recruit made an official visit to LSU for its home game against Alabama, posting several pictures on his social media accounts during that visit.

A consensus top five prospect for the state's 2024 recruiting class, Carter recently narrowed his list of schools he's considering to 12 -- Tennessee, LSU, Clemson, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Kentucky, Arizona State and Jackson State.

Carter compiled 1,458 total offensive yards during his junior season as well as 40 tackles, four interceptions -- returning one for a touchdown -- and averaged 19 yards per punt return. He rushed for 678 yards (8.9 per carry) and 18 TDs, caught 36 passes for 780 yards (21.6 per reception) and 10 more scores.

CCS (9-2) hosts Franklin Road Academy (9-1) in Friday's Division II-AA quarterfinals.

At Brainerd, Carter would join sophomore athlete Martels Carter Jr. -- the two are not related -- to give the Panthers two of the highest-rated underclassmen prospects in the state. Martels Carter Jr. -- who scored more than 20 offensive touchdowns and returned two of his three interceptions for scores -- currently has 26 scholarship offers, including from Tennessee, Ole Miss, Michigan, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Louisville.
