Tennessee’s stay at the top was brief. The Volunteers dropped to No. 5 Tuesday night in the second installment of the College Football Playoff rankings.

Georgia, which defeated the Vols 27-13 this past Saturday in Athens, ascended from No. 3 to No. 1 and was followed by Ohio State, Michigan and TCU. Oregon was No. 6 and LSU No. 7
