It was status quo atop the College Football Playoff rankings.

For a second consecutive week, the Tennessee Volunteers (9-1) were ranked No. 5 behind the undefeated quartet of Georgia (10-0), Ohio State (10-0), Michigan (10-0) and TCU (10-0). The Vols were impressive in a 66-24 thumping of Missouri this past Saturday, but TCU went to Texas as a touchdown underdog and won 17-10.

Oregon was No. 6 last week but lost at home to Washington 37-34. The Ducks (8-2) slipped six spots to No. 12 and were replaced at No. 6 by LSU (8-2), which has clinched a Southeastern Conference championship game pairing with Georgia on Dec. 3 but is also a team Tennessee routed 40-13 in Baton Rouge on Oct. 8.

Southern California (9-1) was No. 7, with Alabama (8-2), Clemson (9-1) and Utah (8-2) rounding out the top 10.
