Tennessee took the expected tumble Tuesday night in the College Football Playoff rankings.

The Volunteers, who were ranked No. 1 three weeks ago with an 8-0 record before losing at Georgia, plummeted from No. 5 to No. 10 following Saturday night's 63-38 setback at South Carolina. Tennessee will take a 9-2 record into this weekend's regular season finale at Vanderbilt.

Georgia remained No. 1 after improving to 11-0 with its 16-6 win at Kentucky, with Ohio State, Michigan and TCU remaining in the second through fourth spots. LSU moved up to No. 5, with Southern California, Alabama, Clemson, Oregon and then the Vols rounding out the top 10.
