Storied Signal Mountain golf program in hunt for Class A state title

The Signal Mountain boys' golf program is in the hunt for the TSSAA Division I Class A state golf championship after the first of two days at the Sevierville Golf Club.

Stewart County leads the field with a foursome scorecard of 314 (+26) with Kingston one stroke behind. Signal Mountain is just six strokes out off the lead at 320.

Star senior Peyton Ogle led the Eagles on Monday with a 2-over-par, 74 as the five-time state participant is tied for fifth-place individually. Summertown's Jason Cole Campbell is atop the field at 6-under-par.

Lookout Valley freshman Oliver Bean shot a 77 (+5) and is in 12th place headed into Tuesday's final round.
