Markus Naglestad etched his name into the Chattanooga Football Club history books in Saturday's 5-0 home win over the Savannah Clovers.

In the 67th minute, Naglestad drilled an unstoppable penalty kick into the top left corner of the net to complete the scoring for the game, in the process setting the club record for career goals. The Norwegian striker now has 53 in 76 matches with his current club.

CFC improved to 11-0-4 in the 2023 National Independent Soccer Association season with a league-leading 37 points, and it has outscored those opponents 30-5 this year.

Jesus Ibarra provided the opening goal just three minutes into Saturday's match at Finley. Mutaya Mwape set up the score with a nice pass on the right flank, where Ibarra made two defenders miss before switching to his left foot to fire into the far left side of the net.

Alex McGrath made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute, when the attacking midfielder stole the dribble from a defender and won his one-on-one opportunity with the Savannah keeper. Luis Garcia-Sosa scored in the 39th and 64th minutes to put the match out of reach before Naglestad's special moment.

CFC returns to competition when it hosts Flower City Union at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19.
