Ropapa Mensah scored in stoppage time as the Chattanooga Red Wolves salvaged a point in a 1-1 draw against Central Valley Fuego FC on Saturday night in Fresno, California.

The Red Wolves (4-11-5) overcame an own goal to win the first game of interim coach Scott McKinnie’s tenure, with Central Valley (5-12-2) leading 1-0 from the 32nd minute to the 91st before Mensah broke through on a crossing assist from Mayele Malongo.

The teams are tied for the least points in the USL League One standings with 16 each, but  because Central Valley has played one fewer match, it is a spot higher than the 12th-place Red Wolves.

Chattanooga’s next match is at fifth-place Forward Madison FC (9-5-6) at 8 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday in Wisconsin. The Red Wolves then host the Richmond Kickers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge.
