It took only one season for Whit Muschamp to make a lasting impression on the Baylor football program.
After leading the Red Raiders to the program’s first state championship in nearly half a century, then making his college commitment last spring, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound senior quarterback can now concentrate solely on helping showcase his teammates.
When he made his commitment to Vanderbilt public, Muschamp spoke like a true leader, admitting, “Now I can just concentrate on getting better with my teammates for this season and make it more about them and us as a team instead of about me.”
Muschamp, a consensus three-star prospect who ranks No. 10 on this year’s Dynamite Baker’s Dozen list of the area’s top college recruits, chose Vandy over offers from Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Tulane and Virginia among others.
Last season he threw for 3,187 yards and 29 touchdowns, which included completing 19-of-29 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns in the BlueCross Bowl win over MBA.
