Chattanooga-based insurer Unum Group was awarded three technology awards for innovation and named one of America’s Most Innovative Companies by Forbes.

Unum was ranked as a Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT company, a global recognition, according to the insurer that sells disability and other voluntary benefits.

Also, Puneet Bhasin, a Unum executive vice president and global chief information and digital officer, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Global Leadership Institute Award by HMG Strategy.

In addition, Dora Clements, senior vice president of enterprise transformation for the company, was named Digital Transformation Leader of the Year by Information Age and DiversityQ, according to Unum.

“We are humbled by these prestigious recognitions, which are a testament to the focus we have placed on innovation and our commitment to fostering an engaging, inclusive environment where employees can thrive,” Bhasin said in a statement. “Technology is not a back-office function at Unum. It’s a critical component of every part of our business.”
