McCallie senior guard Kollin Claridy scored a dozen points in the fourth quarter to lead a 73-59 region road victory over Chattanooga Christian Tuesday night.

Claridy, with several strong drives to the basket, helped turn a single-digit lead into a 14-point margin with back-to-back old-fashioned 3-point plays within 11 seconds of each other.

On the first one, the 6-foot-3 guard attacked down the left lane to throw down a dunk through heavy contact with the ball popping up in the air and falling through. A few moments later, Claridy grabbed one of his nine rebounds and kept his eyes on the hoop as he sped straight down the middle for a tough finish while being hit from behind.

Claridy finished with a game-high 21 points and made all seven of his free throws as McCallie (8-12, 1-4 Division II-AA East Region) made 14-of-16 from the charity stripe.

"Our game plan was to attack the rim because they have no big man," said Claridy, who was joined in McCallie's high-scoring backcourt Tuesday by Parker Robison, who added 20 points.

"We had some really nice passes into the paint and strong finishes. I had to release my energy and show them what myself and our team are really about. We hope this is our breakthrough tonight to help us come back and win four straight in region play. I'm proud of our team and we have much more to come."
