Hamilton County deputies arrested a man who refused to leave a residence and threatened to kill himself after they responded to a possible disorder call, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Charles Edward Brown III, 55, was charged Sunday with one count of resisting arrest, one count of retaliation against an officer and one count of violation of an order of protection or restraining order, according to a Monday news release by the Sheriff's Office.

Brown repeatedly told responding Deputy Brad Weaver shortly before 1 a.m. he was at the residence at the 7000 block of Huntington Drive to retrieve his belongings. However, the female at the residence refused to let him in and had a friend call law enforcement, according to the affidavit.

Although Weaver continuously asked Brown to remain outside the residence with him, "Mr. Brown ran into the residence and shut the door behind him and locked it," the affidavit said.

Brown then ignored several pleas by both Weaver and the woman to exit the residence and began to say he had a rifle and threatened to take his own life, according to a sworn statement in a court filing by a deputy seeking his arrest.

After the threats Brown made against his own life, Weaver called in the SWAT team, which took over and ultimately took Brown into custody and booked him into the Silverdale Detention Center, according to the affidavit.

Brown is due to appear before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Larry Ables on Jan. 27.
