Prep roundup: Grace Academy lands comeback road win

Grace Academy staged a fourth quarter comeback to take down Collegedale Academy, 47-43, on the road Tuesday in a Division II-A East Region boys' matchup.

Senior Eli Ibrahim made a pair of field goals in every quarter as his consistent play resulted in a game-high 18 points for the Golden Eagles, who outscored their opponent 15-8 in the final quarter. Christian Englebrecht and Jack McDaniel each hit key free throws late to help seal the win, while Logan Rice poured in 11 points.

Collegedale was led by Garet Gipson, who scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half. George Shrode also added 10 points in the close defeat.

› Dre Jackson, Chattanooga Christian: The junior guard was unstoppable, scoring a career-high 36 points while also surpassing 1,000 career points in a 65-56 home win over Arts & Sciences.

› Dylan Faulkner, Calhoun: The 6-foot-9 senior forward scored 31 points as the Yellow Jackets won their Region 7-AAAAA opener over Cass, 62-56.

› Carlee Lowry, Signal Mountain: She made 12 field goals inside the arc on the way to a 28-point showing in a 62-20 win over Hixson.

› Derrick Roberson, Chattanooga Prep: The 6-foot-4 freshman scored 19 of his game-high 26 points in the first quarter, where he made five of his six 3-pointers in an 87-44 home win over South Pittsburg as Chattanooga Prep improved to 15-5 overall on the year.

› Ryan Lopez, Boyd Buchanan: The senior guard buried four of his five 3-pointers in the second half to help the state's second-ranked Buccaneers (17-2) improve to 4-0 in Division II-A East Region play with a 58-41 home win over Silverdale Baptist.

› Sarah Peyton Durham, Boyd Buchanan: The emerging sophomore scored 23 points to lead a 52-40 win over Silverdale Baptist. The Lady Bucs improved to 12-5 overall and 4-0 in region play.

› Hannah Jones, Bradley Central: The senior forward led the undefeated Bearettes (17-0) to an 82-18 blowout over McMinn County with 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting while adding four steals and three assists.

› Anthony Bonner, Red Bank: The sophomore forward scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help lead the Lions to a 75-59 win over Rhea County.

› MacKenzie Bernier, Ooltewah: The senior forward scored 22 points to pace a 54-32 win over Howard.
