Woman struck by vehicle after shots are fired on Broad Street on Saturday


An 18-year-old woman was injured after being hit by a car on Broad Street, shortly after reports of gunshots in the area, according to authorities.

Shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, police responded to a call of shots fired in the 300 block of Broad Street. Police were told that someone had "fired shots in the area and a young woman was struck by a vehicle as she tried to run away," a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department stated.

The woman was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle for treatment.
