Fusilier, a Louisiana resident according to an affidavit in the case, reportedly called police in Giles County, Tennessee, to turn himself in after the shooting, telling dispatchers he had shot someone in Chattanooga.

He was detained in Giles County, where officers took a firearm he had with him, the affidavit says. Chattanooga officers then interviewed Fusilier at the Pulaski Police Department, according to court filings.

According to the affidavit, officers watched surveillance footage that reportedly showed Fusilier entering a room at the hotel before shots were fired. Four or five people could be seen fleeing the room after he entered, the affidavit says.

Footage then reportedly shows Fusilier getting in an elevator and leaving the scene in a "blue company van," according to court documents. He was found in Giles County in the same van, the affidavit says.

Police responded to the hotel around 7 p.m. Saturday after receiving reports of shots fired, the affidavit states. Officers found two people with gunshot wounds at the scene, court filings say.

Witnesses told police that Fusilier was upset about a missing wallet when he entered the room, according to court filings, and seemed to think someone in the room had taken it. They said, according to the affidavit, that he was reportedly acting hostile before pulling out a firearm and shooting.

Fusilier reportedly told officers he began shooting after another person in the hotel room racked a gun toward him, making Fusilier believe he was going to shoot him, the affidavit says.

Witnesses cited in court filings told police no one besides Fusilier had a gun in the room.

Fusilier is now being held at Silverdale Detention Center on a $75,000 bond, according to jail records.
