A fire at the Smoothie King in Hixson shut down part of Highway 153 on Wednesday.
Chattanooga firefighters controlled the fire after arriving just before 3 p.m., according to a news release from the Fire Department.
All employees were safe and out of the building by the time crews arrived, the release said, and no one was injured in the fire.
Smoke and flames were coming out of the back of the structure, according to firefighters, before the fire was extinguished from both inside and outside attacks.
The building has fire damage on its backside and inside its back office, the release said, and smoke damage throughout the inside.
