One of the largest manufacturing sites in Ooltewah is available for a new user or use.

The 9404 Ooltewah Industrial Drive location has a sale price of $2.75 million. Hawker Powersource announced last year that it was closing the facility as its owner, EnerSys, shifts away from the type of batteries made at the factory.

The site offers 104,965 square feet with predominantly 20-foot clear heights throughout the plant, according to commercial real estate broker Sim Wilson of WilsonSteele.

The 5.4-acre property is fenced with a well-appointed visitor entrance along with ground-level and mezzanine office space, the broker says, and can provide manufacturing, assembly and distribution uses.

Production and visitor parking are served by a gravel parking facility across the street, with paved spaces immediately adjacent to the building.

Hawker Powersource is the largest brand of industrial lead-acid batteries in the world. The company operates more than 32 manufacturing facilities, serving more than 10,000 customers in 100 countries from a wide range of industries.

In Ooltewah, Hawker Powersource bought the former American Bicycle Group plant for $1.2 million in 2015 when the bike maker moved to a bigger location on Amnicola Highway.
