Chattanooga police responded to a stabbing Tuesday shortly after 5 p.m. at the 2300 block of Fairleigh Street, where officers found a woman suffering from an injury that did not appear to be life-threatening, according to a Wednesday release from the department.
The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment, the release said.
Officers were told “the woman was stabbed by her son following a disagreement,” and he fled, according to the release.
The suspect’s name is not being released by the department, according to Chattanooga Police Department Assistant Chief Jerri Sutton.
“Fugitive investigators are working that case now,” Sutton said by email. “He was angry at his mother and there is no perceived threat to the community.”
