The annual Spring Fling — the Olympic-style state championship tournament for Tennessee's five high school spring sports — gets underway Tuesday morning in Murfreesboro with tennis and track and field action.

The event will continue through the evening session with all three Chattanooga-area baseball teams — defending Division II-AA champion McCallie, plus Silverdale Baptist in D-II A and Walker Valley in Class 4A — as well as soccer matches involving Arts & Sciences, East Hamilton and Signal Mountain — and both public-school softball teams — East Hamilton and Soddy-Daisy — taking the field.
