Chattanooga-based CBL publishes first Environmental, Social, and Governance Progress Update

CBL Properties has published its first Environmental, Social, and Governance Progress Update that focuses on the company’s accomplishments in 2022 and looks at its 2023 goals.

The foundational elements of ESG have long guided CBL operations and over the past two years, the company has made tremendous progress in formalizing its program and integrating it more fully into various aspects of the business, said Stephen Lebovitz, chief executive officer of CBL Properties, in a statement.

“I am proud of the work our team has put into this program and I am pleased to share our progress in our first published ESG Progress Update,” he said. “We are excited about the strides we have made through our ESG initiatives to this point and looking forward to even greater opportunities ahead.”

For example, the company said that in 2022, CBL focused on the continued upgrading of its interior and exterior lighting to LEDs, the deployment of electric vehicle charging stations, and the diversion of waste from landfill. Also, CBL is actively working to identify ways to improve the efficiency of our HVAC systems.
