This story was updated on Sept. 6 to correct the spelling of Hadley Turner’s name.

With a state championship under her belt and 19 shutouts so far in her prep career, Girls Preparatory School sophomore goalkeeper Farah House already has quite an impressive resume.

The scary part is she only continues to get better for the defending Division II-AA state champion Bruisers, who have begun their title defense allowing only one goal through six matches into the 2023 fall season.

In the first meeting ever between GPS and Silverdale Baptist on Tuesday night, House’s squad took control with a 5-1 home victory over a Lady Seahawks (7-2) program that is poised to build off a run to the Division II-A state semifinals last season. Silverdale entered play with 37 goals on the season as Brooke Bolton, Addie Chapman and Abigail Witten lead a dangerous attack.

The Bruisers (5-0-1) accounted for four of their goals in the second half after Brooke Arnold set up a 1-0 halftime lead with a perfect pass to Ellison Ball in front of goal. Sofia Bean, Cullie Capecchi, Kallie West and Hadley Turner each netted a goal in the second half.
