It's that time of year again -- time to celebrate Chattanooga's health care community.
Each year, as we prepare for our Champions of Health Care edition, we invite our readers to nominate those who have made exceptional contributions in the fields of medicine and wellness. The response came as no surprise. As always, we were met with great enthusiasm.
Our judges all hail from some of the city's largest, most prestigious institutions -- the Chattanooga-Hamilton Medical Society, CHI Memorial, Erlanger and Parkridge hospitals. Eight years now since our first event, their task remains the same -- choosing the best of the best of Chattanooga's health care community. Not easy.
The group sorted through stacks of names and stories. And during that process, one truth became clear: We are all lucky to live in a city filled with so many dedicated, compassionate health care professionals.
With this magazine, it's our goal to honor those who have dedicated their lives to working toward better health for all of Chattanooga. From high-level surgeons to junior volunteers, every member of our city's medical community plays an important role within the big picture of our health care system.
But, unfortunately, not everybody can take home the prize. And after careful consideration, 14 names emerged among the many.
Read on as we present to you the winners of the 2023 Champions of Health Care. Join us in saluting their remarkable work and contributions!
