Looking to help shape the future of their high school basketball programs, coaches Dylan Rayho and Tony Williams have started the Ooltewah Basketball Academy.

Every Tuesday and Thursday through the month of September, the Ooltewah Basketball Academy will welcome boys and girls in fourth through eighth grades to learn the foundational skills of the game from Ooltewah High School basketball coaches and players.

“We had 38 boys and girls on our first day this Tuesday,” said Williams, who is preparing for his first season as head coach of the Lady Owls. “We got great work in on the court.”

In addition, participants will hear from special guest speakers from the basketball programs at Lee University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga on Thursdays.

“That says a lot about those programs and their coaches to want to help pour into our community’s youth,” Williams said.
