Chattanooga Lookouts begin quest for fourth Southern League title

Staff photo by Patrick MacCoon / The Chattanooga Lookouts return to postseason play for the first time since 2017 as they travel to take on the Tennessee Smokies in a best-of-three Division Series starting Tuesday night.

For the first time since claiming their fourth Southern League title in 2017, the Chattanooga Lookouts will play postseason baseball.

The Southern League playoffs will begin Tuesday night with a pair of best-of-three Division Series battles.

In the North Division Series, the Chattanooga Lookouts (70-67) will play Game 1 on the road Tuesday against the Tennessee Smokies (75-62) with first pitch at 7 ET from Kodak. The Smokies hold a 17-13 advantage in the season series that pits the first half and second half champions of the North Division.

Chattanooga will host Game 2 of the Division Series on Thursday with first pitch at 7:15 from AT&T Field. Meanwhile, a Game 3 if necessary will be played at AT&T Field on Friday at 7:15.

In the South Division Series, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (79-57) will host the Montgomery Biscuits (80-58) in Game 1 Tuesday at 7:35.

The winners of those two series will meet in the Southern League Championship Series, which will also be a best-of-three series and is schedule for September 24-27.
