Tennessee guard Freddie Dilione V is entering the NCAA transfer postal after a redshirt freshman season in which he played in 18 of 36 games.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pounder from Fayetteville, North Carolina, averaged 5.2 minutes, 1.7 points and less than one rebound (0.6) when he did see action. He played 93 minutes all season, including 40 in Southeastern Conference regular-season contests.

Dilione competed for a season-high 16 minutes in the opening 80-42 win over Tennessee Tech on Nov. 6, and he played 13 minutes in the 88-53 thrashing of Vanderbilt on Feb. 17, a game the Vols led 51-20 at halftime.

"It's been a learning experience," Dilione said during a news conference in late January. "I'm just being patient and working on my game every day in practice. I've always been a patient guy.

"I don't get sped up in games. I'm patient."

Dilione, who went 12-of-23 from the floor for a 52.2% clip, enrolled at Tennessee in January 2023 and redshirted the rest of that season. He arrived from Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina, as the nation's No. 41 prospect, according to the 247Sports.com composite rankings.
